Software Supply Chain Security Risks and Executive Order 14028
Event Description
Software supply chain attacks can have immediate cascading effects affecting not only the immediate target of attack, but potentially all users of that software. In some of the recent attacks, threat actors poisoned open-source libraries, while others exploited insecure development environments. As a result, the White House released Executive Order (EO) 14028 on improving the nation’s cybersecurity by establishing new requirements for software producers who sell their applications to Federal government agencies. In September, this was followed up with a memorandum, M-22-18, sent to all heads of the executive branch agencies with established deadlines.
Join our panel discussion on November 16 as we discuss practical ways to mitigate software supply chain risks and implement the new Federal requirements for software producers.
